Low Handicap Player: The player here should be conscious of carrying the trap down the right side of the fairway. He should use whatever club will permit him to keep the ball on the fairway. He wants to be able to hit a high shot to the green so that he can control the spin on the ball.

Average Handicap Player: The player has a few options; he can stay left with the driver or fairway wood and not reach the trap. You want to be able to control the spin on the second shot because the green lacks depth and immediately over the sand trap you will land on a down-slope that will probably put the ball on the back of the green. If the pin is in the front right then the player should play the shot to the left side.
