Hole
Low
Handicap Player: This is an uphill shot to
an almost blind green. Because the shot is uphill
you will get less spin on the ball. Club selection
here is a 3-iron. The trees on the left encroach on
the fairway. The best shot is a draw or straight shot
to the middle of the green. If the player is to miss
the green the best place to "bail out" is
short left.
Average
Handicap Player: The greatest challenge for
the "Average" player is to take the pot
bunkers out of play. If you cannot be sure to get
to the green, you must look to the best percentage
shot. In this case it is short (60 yds.) If you feel
that you might not reach the green try to play for
position. If the player finds himself in either of
the pot bunkers, the shot to execute is to play a
"normal" sand shot with a 9 or 8 iron. The
key is to get the ball over the lip of trap.
