Handicap Player: The golfer can play a ''cut''
and favor the left side of the fair-way. He should
not use a ''driver'' as this can bring the water into
play or leave a difficult distance for his shot to
the green. He should select a 4 wood or a long iron.
The fairway goes from left to right. The golfer wants
to be hitting a lofted club that lands short of the
green and releases, or ''sticks'' the pin. Being long
here is a problem because of the fact that this is
a ''crowned'' green and will offer a difficult shot
from the trap or rear fringe.
Average Handicap Player: Should favor
the left side of the fairway and attempt to leave
them an optimum shot to the crowned green that will
be difficult to hold. Here they probably want to land
the second shot short and let it ''feed'' on to the
green. The water is not a factor for the conservative
player. A ''chip'' from the front of this green is
preferable than trying to hit the ball from the back
trap. A downhill putt from the left, especially to
the right front is an "adventure" as the
ball will not stop on the green, usually leaving an
uphill putt from the collar or from off the green.
